Jason (and his rad, hockey-playing daughter, Ruby) joined the Croga family in the fall of last year! Since then he’s become a staple at the 3:30 pm class.
Jason is the embodiment of the quote, “The only way you will see results is if you stay consistent.” He shows up every day ready to work, heads to his back left corner spot, and depending on the playlist you can hear him sing along to some rise against while he crushes his lifting/ workouts.
The improvements Jason has made over this past year are incredible. From upping his lifting numbers to becoming a savage on the bike while also getting body weights movements more dialed in, Jason has done it all, and from the looks of it, he plans to keep the momentum going! We can’t wait to see where he’s at this time next year!!!
When did you join Croga?
August 2021
What were you doing before for fitness?
Pre-covid I biked to and from work and occasionally played ice hockey. During covid and work from home not much at all, unfortunately.
What was your first workout? First reaction to your first workout?
I can’t remember the specific workout but I know it was a RFT – I’m pretty sure I was going to die by the end but everyone was very encouraging.
What improvements have you seen in the way you look, feel and perform?
So much more energy! Just on normal days but also to get out and DO things – hiking or playing more hockey or just generally being more active.
What days and times do you come to Croga?
I try to make it most weekdays, usually the 3:30 or 4:30 class depending on when I can get away from work for a bit.
What’s your favorite WOD?
I think that my favorites are the ones that are a little bit of everything (gymnastics and cardio and weightlifting)
What’s your least favorite WOD?
Overhead squats are definitely the worst. Ugh.
What’s your biggest fitness goal for this year?
Just keep up the consistency. I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress once I started coming more often and want to make sure that I keep making time out of my day for it.
What do you love about this type of fitness?
I love the variety of workouts week to week. It seems like every week we’re doing something new and challenging. I also love that everything can be scaled which was super helpful especially when you’re first getting started – things like HSPUs can be really intimidating until you realize that there are lots of options that will help you get there eventually.
What words of advice do you have for new members or people considering joining Croga?
Don’t put it off or make excuses. From someone that had never really been to a gym before it was really overwhelming to start, but the coaches and everyone were so supportive I’m really glad that I did.
Anything to add that we didn’t touch on yet?
+1 to screamo playlists. 🙂
