Christian Mierez is your Member of the month for the month of August! Christian has been with us for almost 3 years now and we are so lucky to have him as one of our loyal members. Christian attends mostly the evening classes and every time he shows up to class he gives it his best effort, every time!
With that said, all of Chrisitan’s hard work has really been paying off lately. If you look at the PR board this month, he owns most of those PR’s. If you have been paying attention to the Croga IG you saw that he just recently got his first BMU on a whim and since then made sure he hit some more to make sure he could still do it.
Everybody loves Christian, he is a stand up guy that always seems happy. Never have I seen Christian upset, he is a ray of sunshine every time he steps through the doors at the gym. Congrats on earning Member of the month Christian!
When did you join Croga?
I joined in Jan 2020
What were you doing before for fitness?
Before CrossFit, I did boxing and kickboxing, and some HIIT training at Orange Theory.
What was your first workout? First reaction to your first workout?
My first workout was “Helen” in my intro class with Cody. OMG, I almost passed out lol I remember walking out to my car all dizzy and waiting for 30 minutes or so because I couldn’t drive.
What improvements have you seen in the way you look, feel and perform?
I feel great! Much happier, healthier, and more confident. My performance has been improving, especially in the last 6 months.
What days and times do you come to Croga?
I try to make it at least 4 times a week to the evening classes, either 4.30 or 5.30 pm.
What’s your favorite WOD?
I’m not sure I have a favorite one, but I love Olympic lifting days.
What’s your least favorite WOD?
Anything with bike cals. That bike takes my soul every single time.

What’s your favorite post-workout routine?
Have my protein and stretching for sure. And now, trying muscle ups.
What’s your biggest fitness goal for this year?
Muscle growth is my main goal. I feel like I have improved a bit in this department but not quite there yet. Gaining muscle is harder than I thought.
What do you love about this type of fitness?
I love the fact you can combine strength, gymnastics, Olympic lifting, endurance, etc. all in a single WOD. It’s the most comprehensive type of fitness I ever tried!
What words of advice do you have for new members or people considering joining Croga?
Croga has the most amazing and friendly staff. The coaches are great, they will have your back and guide you through your entire fitness journey. Plus, I made some of my dearest friends at Croga so I always look forward to being there. Croga is family!
