Catherine is our well deserved Member of the Month!
Cat has been a consistent and committed member of the Croga crew for about a year now, and her dedication continues to impress us all. Just last month alone, she showed up to class 21 times—that’s roughly 4 early morning workouts every week!
You’ll catch Cat crushing it at 5 AM, 6 AM or 9 AM, always walking in with a smile, a great attitude, and ready to tackle the workout in a smart and focused way. Her consistency, positivity, and grit are what make her stand out.
Not only is she committed to her own progress, but Cat is also one of the most encouraging members in the gym. Whether she’s pushing others to go for a heavier weight or rallying the crew to join her for a DEKA, she lifts up everyone around her—literally and figuratively.
We feel incredibly lucky to have Cat as part of the Croga family and are excited to see what she accomplishes next. Here’s to many more years of sweat, smiles, and success!
Way to go, Cat—you’ve earned it!
When did you join Croga?
April 2024
What were you doing before for fitness?
Like many, when the pandemic shut the world down, I built up a home gym. It served its purpose but I lost interest and the incredible connection to movement. It led to inconsistency and pathetic workouts. I needed to re-ignite.
What was your first workout? First reaction to your first workout?
It involved box jumps and my enthusiasm to re-ignite diminished (I was afraid of wooden boxes). Nick downplayed the very serious situation, grabbed a 45lb plate and dropped it next to the box. He continued to do that until I gradually weaned to smaller plates. I’m thrilled to report I can now box jump unassisted.
What improvements have you seen in the way you look, feel and perform?
I look forward to all the things I dreaded like 400m runs, burpees, etc. and I just keep showing up because I perform better over time. Outside of the gym, I am getting through the day with clarity, managing life that slams on me, and my sleep is damn good.
What days and times do you come to Croga?
M-F 5AM or 6AM. I just tried the 9AM Deka Force for the first time today and I’m going to swap out a Croga fitness day.
What’s your favorite WOD?
Anything involving deadlifts, dumbbell snatches, kettlebells
What’s your least favorite WOD?
Any of those handstand moves
“The CAT” WOD! What would it be?
AMRAP
400m
22 Deadlift
22 Air Squat
22 Ab Mat sit ups
What’s your favorite post-workout routine?
Weekly 2 hour session acupuncture massage, needles, cupping. I also follow along silly stretch videos like ‘Harmonious Hips’ but, hey they work!
What’s been your favorite culinary discovery since joining Croga?
I love cooking so something new is always being discovered. I pick a weekly theme and next week is squid ink.
What’s your biggest fitness goal for this year?
Be in committed club leaderboard consistently. Maybe a DEKA solo.
What do you love about this type of fitness?
Every workout, I reach a fight or flight state and that little fight pushes the last rep.
What words of advice do you have for new members or people considering joining Croga?
Croga will give you the TLC & outcomes you want, you just need to show up and put in the work.
Anything to add that we didn’t touch on yet?
No
