Croga Fitness Transition FAQs

No, Croga is not failing or going under–not even close. With the support of our incredible community and lots of hard work, we are in a great position to thrive in 2021 and beyond.
No, I did not get tired of coaching. In fact, quite the opposite. I wish I could coach more! Although I love being a small business owner and providing the opportunity for our coaching staff to build careers inside our business and the athletes to improve their lives with our help, my first passion was coaching and this will never change. My reduction in hours over the last few years have been a function of the time required to be the primary caregiver for my little girls while Kelly is at work during the day and of giving more hours to our staff so that they can continue to improve their craft and also earn a living.

More space, a little slower pace of life, and a stronger connection with Mother Nature that we can experience with our little girls are our primary motivations.

No, we have no plans to open a second location in Idaho. If you decide to move to the Boise area though, please let us know and we’ll let you know where we have decided to work out or invite you to our garage to join us for some Croga Fitness.

Kelly will be working remotely and maintaining her existing role in tech PR. I will continue to work for Croga, and I will also be opening a LeanFeast franchise in Meridian. Opening a LeanFeast will allow me to stay connected to the fitness community and have a broader reach to help even more people achieve their health and fitness goals, which I’m very excited about.
This transition is something that we have been working toward for more than two years now, and Cody and Keri have become more and more involved behind the scenes during that period of time. Dave will be responsible for the behind-the-scenes and business-focused items along with general guidance of the path of the business. Cody will be in charge of the coaching staff, the client experience, and the physical location. Keri will spend her time staying in close contact with the community, networking, and keeping her finger on the pulse so that we can ensure the environment at Croga remains fun and inviting.
YES! I know it has been over a year since we’ve had a community event, but when I thank Cody, Jill, and Kelly for making me look good, it is not a joke. Sure, there will be some added responsibility that comes with the territory of being the person in charge of the staff and client experience at the gym, but Cody is smart, thoughtful, considerate, and excited to continue to learn and evolve.
We plan to have all the paperwork signed in March to officially make Cody and Keri our partners. However, this change has been in the works for a significant period of time, and I have a strong feeling most have not noticed. The only real short-term change will be in the ownership structure of the legal entity that runs Croga and Dave no longer being on the schedule once the Musgraves have moved.
There will be no changes to memberships, class structure, class times, coaching staff, or support staff. The only change will be that you won’t see me, Dave, on the schedule for Tuesday and Friday mornings. However, when I am in town, I will make sure to pop in for some workouts and some coaching.
No. We will remain outdoors and distanced and continue to sanitize all equipment after each use for the foreseeable future. We will follow the county and state guidelines closely and we will make decisions that are best for our clients’ experience and the safety of our clients/staff. This might mean that we remain outdoors for longer than other gyms, but we know you will all support us in keeping you safe and healthy because that is a top priority at Croga.
If you’d like to speak with someone in person, Cody is the best person to chat with because he will be at the gym most days. If you’d prefer to take it offline, you can email either or both of us, but please know that we will share the feedback with all the members of the management team to make sure that your concern is addressed. If you prefer anonymity, we will make sure to respect your privacy and work with you to find a resolution.
No. We just signed another lease and plan to stay right where we are. We love our current location and can’t wait to be back inside offering 100% of our programming options again.
Yes. We will remain Croga Fitness. And we hope you will all remain to Be Lionhearted with us.

The first month we feel that we can safely host a community event, we will do so. Monthly community events are an integral part of the Croga experience and we can’t wait to host you all again for some of our “famous” events that you all make awesome!

The coaching staff all expressed a bit of sadness that the Musgraves won’t be around, but they all communicated their long-term commitment to Croga and the member experience that we have worked so hard to foster over the years.

Yes, Murph is moving. He will probably hate the snow, so maybe he’ll ask to come back to live at the box. Only time will tell. We’re sure that Molly will warm up to everyone, and maybe she’ll get a new and improved version of Croga Murph’s throne.
